So what made me decide to become a Vegan: I guess the simple answer to this question is that for me, there were proven health benefits to a Vegan lifestyle & I did not want to miss out on this simply because I love cheese!
What made me even think about becoming a Vegan – sounds ridiculous but I watched ‘What the Health’ a documentary film about the collusion of industry, government, pharmaceutical companies and health organisations. It made me see things in a completely different light. Now I know that this film was based in America and perhaps some of our companies here in the UK are not the same, but I couldn’t deny that there were very clear health benefits to becoming a Vegan and that for some reason we were not told about this in the mainstream.
So me and my Partner are embarking on a journey to Veganism, to start with we are eating up all of our leftover meat, honey and the such and will be starting our new Vegan lifestyle as of next month. I am not delusional though I know that this process will take time and effort – but I hope to be able to reap the benefits too!
So a little about me, I am 27 an office administrator for a University in the UK. I spend most of my day sat down working at a computer (much like I am doing right now). I walk to and from work (40 minutes per day) but do not undertake much more strenuous activity. I have been for the past year or so suffering from issues with bloating and discomfort after eating (I have not been diagnosed with anything as I have not been to seek help for this) I hope that this new lifestyle will help to ease the bloating and discomfort I feel after eating. I hope it will help to unclog my arteries and decrease my chances of heart disease, diabetes & cancer. We can only try!
You may disagree with my choice or feel that I am making a mistake but you must remember this is my life and ultimately my choice. You may feel that I am not doing this for the right reasons, but you must remember everyone has their own path, their own opinions and their own reasons for doing what they do.
I hope that this blog may help someone who is also looking to transition to a Vegan lifestyle, who knows maybe we can take this journey together.
Tonight for dinner we are having our favourite meal – Pineapple Fried Rice served with some bread and butter and with some Sweet Chilli Sauce dizzled on top!
After forgetting my lunch Today, I was really looking forward to dinner – although the prep did take a little longer than I anticipated.
This was another delicious meal 🙂
Tonight for dinner we had Indian Style Meat Free Burgers with Homemade Sweet Potato Fries served in Salt and Pepper bap with some tomato and onion rings.
After a long day this was the perfect meal. Spicy, sweet and super tasty!
Tonight for dinner we decided to try another new meal. BBQ Cauliflower Wings with Homemade Potato Wedges.
I was really looking forward to trying this one. I’m a big fan of cauliflower and thought this would be a lovely meal 🙂
I first coated and baked the cauliflower in a batter mix. Then added some new sauce and baked this again for a sticky consistency.
This meal was gorgeous, my partner wasn’t so keen but I love it 🙂
Today we popped out for lunch at Cafe Thrive in Southampton- we will only be having Pineapple Fried Rice for dinner so thought I would share our lunch with you instead.
Cafe Thrive is a relatively new business in Southampton, they opened on my birthday and I visited there on the opening day with my mum. This trip however was with my partner and I decided to try something else on their extensive menu.
I had a Caesar Salad with some Sweet Potato Fries. This salad was gorgeous, some lovely leafy greens with vegan chicken, cheese, homemade croutons and a lovely creamy Caesar sauce 🙂 the sweet potato fries were gorgeous as well.
My partner had the ‘Meaty Burger which came with a some sweet potato fries and some salad leaves. He loved this burger – he normally doesn’t like sauces but enjoyed the one in this burger.
After we had finished our lovely lunch we couldn’t resist having something off the desert menu as well. We both decided to have a white chocolate milkshake each and I had a brownie bowl and my partner had a brownie sundae. Absolutely unnecessary after our lunch but heavenly!
I think this will be our new regular!
Tonight for dinner we had Tofu Stir Fry with Noodles 🙂 a quick and easy dinner after a stressful day!

Tonight for dinner we had meat free sausages with some thyme roasted potatoes. To make my thyme roasted potatoes I toss some new potatoes in a mixture of oil, garlic and thyme and cook these for 35mibs 🙂 perfection.
I decided to serve this up with some green beans as well to add some green goodness to the meal!
Tonight for dinner we had Peanut Tofu Stir Fry with Basmati Rice. This was lovely- nice and quick to cook which was perfect as we only just got back from the gym.
I like making this sauce with peanut butter, sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce and apple cider vinegar.
